Rance(Japanese:ランス, English:Rance) isAliceSoft's flagship work, the Rance series's protagonist, and is one of the few who can headline cover promotionsand without cross-dressing or being gender-benteroge male leads. However, he swapped bodies with Sanachia in VI, was gender-bent once in VII (non-canon), and swapped bodies with Urza Pranaice in a food ticket side story in Rance X.
Shark teeth, thug-like eyes (this point is acknowledged by many women)
Up until Kichikuou Rance, Rance's setting was that of a handsome man. When Rance entered the Women's Military Academy, a crowd of female students was attracted to him. After saving Elena from being harassed by soldiers in Helman, Elena fell in love with him at first sight. Even Kafee said that someone born handsome like Rance couldn't understand her troubles, and Horaga also called Rance a handsome boy.

During R5, because the artist's production philosophy conflicted with TADA's, production failed three times. For the fourth time, Orion was brought in (R5D refers to this fourth attempt). Orion liked the Rance from R2, so he intentionally drew him looking quite pathetic, with armor that looked as shabby as stone. In Alice no Yakata, Orion stated that everyone's impression of Rance was likely the handsome version from Kichikuou, and asked players to enjoy the game with the mindset of experiencing an Orion-style Rance (at the time, no one expected that R6-10 would all be works handled by Orion). By R6, the official description of "Rance is a second-rate handsome man" was given; although children say he's handsome, he is far inferior compared to true handsome men like Alex, and from then on, Rance became very hostile toward handsome men.
In the main series, Rance basically wears white armor and green clothes, with a cape that was first white and then green. In Kichikuou Rance, he wears dark green armor with a red and black cape, adding a sense of dominance.

The armor style in R9 is similar to Kichikuou Rance and was modified for fighting in the cold of Helman; this outfit continued into R10
However, the armor in Kichikuou Rance has many golden patterns, making Rance more eye-catching during battle
His personality is very aggressive; simply put, he is a "brat" with extreme destructive power and initiative. However, in the seventh gameSill being frozen...he began to grow.
In the spin-off Kichikuou Rance, after the destruction of the thieves' den, being hunted by Helman soldiers, Sill being captured, and the rebellion of the Leas White Army, he gained the capacity and maturity of a king and became very dedicated to his harem.
Toward men he acknowledges, he shows extra care; at this time, since he was still set as a handsome man, he wasn't that repelled by men
Toward commoners, thugs, and soldiers, he also displayed sufficient leadership qualities

In Kichikuou Rance, Ludrasaum explicitly states that Rance still yearns for peace in his heart and is not a complete brute at all.
The protagonist of the series, known as "KichikuWarrior". He has excellent talent as a warrior, and combined with his "BUG" constitution of having no level cap, he has the potential to become the strongest warrior on the entire continent. However, due to frequent laziness, his level often regresses. As of "Rance IX", his level is approximately 40.Additionally, the level caps of the women Rance sleeps with are all increased to varying degrees.Furthermore, the level caps of his children are all ∞ without exception.
In Kichikuou Rance, Rance exhibits the characteristic of leveling up extremely quickly (firstly because he is constantly at war, and secondly, this can be considered the precursor to the special constitution of Rance's children in Rance 10 Part 2). During the period of occupying the Free Cities, he was already able to defeat the Majin Satra and kill the Majins Ray and Zieg. During the Zeth conquest, he could even tank the self-destruction of the Zeth Flame and Ice Generals; they were blown to ashes, yet Rance remained unscathed. After the war with the Monster Realm began, Rance was able to solo Kesselring, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Majin (in contrast to Rance 10, where Rance was schooled by Kesselring several times...). When challenging God at the end, if choosing to negotiate, Rance will angrily unleash the phantom ultimate skill—Super Kichiku Slash, a single strike that can even wake up the Creator God Ludrasaum (though he gets flattened by it immediately after...).
His interests are having H with beautiful women and collecting shells. His "hunting range" is between 15 and 29 years old, but in reality, as long as they are beautiful and cute, he will make a move regardless of their type.Super appearance-focused, with the only exception being lolis; Rance never makes a move on lolis or his own descendants (there are exceptions when he doesn't know the truth). Additionally, he has stated that he hates villains who abuse and harm women, ugly women, and handsome men who are popular with women (a setting after R6. In Kichikuou, since he was still set as a top-tier handsome man, he did not harbor hostility towards other handsome men). He will not hesitate to punish those he deems as villains or evil beautiful women. For example, towards the one who abused multiple women,Lia, he performed H punishment. Sometimes he shows kindness towards the weak, women, and children. After Resette was born, he gradually developed various senses of responsibility, even reaching the point of doting on Resette. Surprisingly, he likes playing chess with others, but his opponent is alwaysKing Gandhi、Yamagata Masakage、Catherineand other opponents who look like they're good at it, so Rance always loses, but he continues to challenge them anyway.Bad at it but addicted.
His love for shells exceeds that for beautiful women; he once said, "I will never lend or give away my shells, not even to a woman."
Current owner of the Magic Sword Chaos (カオス), one of the few weapons among humans capable of harming or killing Archfiends.
Rance is aOrphan, his birth might have been a prank by the Creator, or perhaps because Demon King Guy failed to please the Gods. Thus, the Gods attempted to have Rance swallowed by hatred through his unfortunate childhood experiences and use his "bug" constitution to plunge the world into chaos once again. However, for some reason, the Gods' expectations were thwarted.
In GI 1002, a one-armed knight brought the then 4-year-old Rance to Gomorrah Town (ゴモラタウン). Shortly after, the knight died, leaving Rance's origins a mystery. At age 13, as his sexual characteristics
Outside the village, Rance met a femaleSwordsman, Rance's devious schemes failed and he was taught a lesson instead. From then on, Rance followed the female swordswoman on adventures everywhere. Much of Rance's subsequent knowledge was taught by her (including swordsmanship, adventuring skills, and contraception knowledge). After the female swordswoman died during an adventure, Rance settled in [ICE Village] (アイス村) and made a living by taking quests from the guild of her old friend, Keith (キース).
Since he had no surname, Rance's household registration was a name he chose himself, registered as [Rance SuperKing].
Because the Queen of LeasLia, the Princess of ZethMagic, the President of HelmanSheila, the Pope of the largest religion, the AL ChurchCrookall harbor feelings of love for Rance, while the ruler of JAPANOda Kouregards Rance as an older brother (and Rance is the nominal head of the Oda clan in JAPAN), so as of "Rance IX", Rance can effectively mobilize almost all human military forces on the entire continent. However, due to information suppression by high-level intelligence departments, only a few people know of Rance's existence, ensuring that Rance can adventure smoothly across the world.
As of "Rance X", there are 13 known Maidens of Fate for Rance:Sill Plain、Shizuka Masou、Kanami Kentou、Killie Sharp、Senhime、Sheila Helman、Miracle Toall、Ferris、Mouri Teru、Pastel Kara、Yamamoto Isoroku、Lia Parapara Leas、Magic Gandhi

Rance is just a doting father in front of Resette.Even in Rance 10, he is still, and for a long time, he was at odds with Dark Rance because of FelissLove-Hate Relationship. However, when Dark Rance meets Rance again in Part 2 of Rance X, the hostility is gone. As for his other children, he failed to fulfill his parental duties because he became the Demon King.
By the true ending of "Rance X," he is over 100 years old and has many grandchildren; on the last night of his life, he passes away peacefully in Sill's company.
After his death, he resolutely refused the Soul Manager's request to collect his soul, so the Soul Manager had no choice but to let him reincarnate.
Goddess ALICEShe claimed that Rance "was initially expected to be an evil king who would leave the world in ruins," but Rance failed to meet the God's expectations. As a result, Goddess ALICE once ordered Pope Crook to kill Rance (Rance 8).

Although Rance often jokes about Nobunaga, he is quite concerned about his illness.
Patton: The first half of Patton's life was essentially destroyed by Rance. Although Patton was initially angry at Rance, because of Rance he realized how ridiculous his former self was, so he became grateful to Rance and regards him as a best friend, providing crucial help at key moments. Rance also rarely acknowledged Patton as a man, making the unprecedented decision not toPatton's womenlay a hand on。
Kayblis: Initially, Kayblis called Rance the "King of Humanity," and during their battle, he called him the "Master of Chaos." At the very end, he called Rance by his name. To Kayblis, humans were equivalent to bugs; the "King of Humanity" meant an existence whose death would leave humans unable to resist. Chaos is a weapon capable of harming Dark Lords; "Master of Chaos" meant acknowledging Rance's value as an opponent. Finally, Kayblis remembered his original intentions and faced Rance directly, recognizing him as his arch-rival and calling him by name. Rance always viewed Kayblis as a shortcut to making the Monster Army collapse by killing him.
