Ave Mujicais《BanG Dream!》is a band appearing in the series and its derivative works, as well as the sixth real-life girl band under the project. The band's representative color is#881144。
Introduction
The "Ave" in the band name Ave Mujica comes fromLatin, meaning formal "greetings," "praise," "eulogy," "farewell," etc.; Mujica has the following multiple interpretations:
- refers toMujina Carnival (Mujina Carnival), which is the name of the project's official LINE account, YouTube livestreams, etc. Mujina (Mujina) is a type of yōkai in Japanese folklore that gathers during a full moon[3], which can be extended to the idiom "birds of a feather";
- refers to
無自覚（ ）, related to concepts such as falling and slumber; - refers to Musica, from the Latin word for "music" (English: Music), but the pronunciation is closer to the Italian word with the same spelling, musica (pronounced /ˈmu.zi.ka/).
The entire band name may be modeled after the famous Latin prayer Ave Maria ("Hail Mary"), and the many famous pieces of music with the same title composed using this prayer.

Ave Mujica currently uses two types of icons:
A crescent moon with gear-like notches on the inner side; the gear element is also reflected in the text logo.
The image of a star and a crescent moon (their live events are often held during the new moon). Specifically, it is a crescent moon missing its upper-left portion containing a four-pointed star in the form of an astroid, which is quite different from other common star-and-moon symbols.

History
On February 4, 2023, the project's official channels announced the new band name Ave Mujica and teased their first event, 0th LIVE "Primo die in scaena," for June 4. On April 10, Ave Mujica officially released their first song "黒のバースデイ" and teased that "the box and the letter have been delivered to a corner of this world."
On June 4, 2023,Ave Mujica 0th LIVE "Primo die in scaena" was held., revealing the characters' stage names.
On June 29, 2023, the new BanG Dream! TV anime series "BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!" explicitly showed Ave Mujica joining the GBP universe, and the members' real names and cast members were gradually revealed in the ending credits.
On September 13, 2023, the first mini-albumAlea jacta estwas released. On September 14, after "BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!" concluded, the official announcement was made for a new anime series featuring Ave Mujica as the protagonists. On December 15, 2024, atAve Mujica 4th LIVE "Adventus", the TV anime " was pre-screenedBanG Dream! Ave Mujica" Episode 1, and during the subsequent performance of "KiLLKiSS", all members officially removed their masks to perform, and have not worn them since.[4]

There are various theories regarding the origin of the Ave Mujica members' surnames, including the Toshima-Meguro theory within Tokyo[6], the Tokyo Five Wards (Cities) theory, and the outside-Tokyo theory. There is also a theory that they come directly from religious and mythological concepts such as Toyokawa Inari and Yuten Shonin. Their names contain prayer-related terms, such as Ika, Mutsumi, Ban, Yuu, and Saki. Their codenames are taken from the Latin names of lunar surface features like lunar maria and bays.
The initials of the band members' names can form MUNUS, which means duty and gift in Latin; they can also form MUUNS, which in North Frisian (ISO 639-3: frr)[7]is equivalent to the English word MOONS[8]。

- April 10th at 12:00 PM, the countdown previously set on the official website ended. The official account tweeted, "この世界のどこかに箱と手紙を届けました(The box and the letter have been delivered to a corner of this world)."[10]
- At the same time, YouTuberえっちゃんtweeted that she had received a wooden box locked with iron chains, accompanied by an Ave Mujica card. She would livestream the unboxing at 8:30 PM. Additionally, she stated, "When I wanted to go out and see who the delivery person was, I saw a girl dressed in Gothic Lolita style clothing pushing a handcart away."[11]
