Early years About a thousand years ago, the young Shu arrived at Dahuang City and was taken in by a farmer later revered as "Shennong." After being taught the principles of being "human" by Shennong, Shu remained in Dahuang City. One winter, while traveling south to collect seeds, she brought back her younger brotherJi^[5]. On her deathbed, Shennong decided to go north of Dahuang City to find new seeds, but she collapsed after being contaminated by the Collapsals. Shu had her buried, but the seeds Shennong brought back contaminated the land of Dahuang City. Perhaps out of love for the land and its people, Shu used her power to suppress the Collapsals for a thousand years. Since then, Shu completed the "Song of Solar Terms" that Shennong had left unfinished and became an Agricultural Tianshi of Yan, responsible for teaching agricultural techniques. About forty years ago, Shu received Rong Wanqing, the current Tongzhi of Dahuang City and a former Candleholder, and recruited her to help with farm work. SideStory "Here A People Sows" After the Shangshu incident, Shu participated in the "Twelve Towers and Five Cities" project, together with_Nianand others to build a new vessel to replacethe original body of the Sui-Beast. In March 1102, Shu received the demotedZuo Le, and suggested~~this distant cousin from the capital,~~Zuo Le, would spend his time in Dahuang learning fromHe Sheng、Xiaomanhow to farm. Three months later, on the Summer Solstice, during the Shennong Festival in Dahuang, the Yankou Dam suddenly collapsed, causing a massive flood. Shu made an exception and used her power to disperse the heavy rain. After the flood, Shu encountered her long-lost brother, Ji, who suggested she leave Dahuang, but Shu refused. Subsequently (possibly due to the influence of the flood's pollution), the Collapsals beneath Dahuang erupted. To disperse the Collapsals, Shu once exhausted her divine consciousness and died. However, the residual consciousness remaining in the "heart" of the Twelve Pavilions and Five Cities, through its powerful connection with the land, ultimately refused to return to Sui's original body and was resurrected. After the second Collapsal outbreak was brought under control, Wang, Shu, Ji, Nian, and Xi gathered together. After hearing Wang explain his plan, Shu lent a portion of her power to Wang. After the incident concluded, Shu, having resolved her karmic ties, left Dahuang, which she had watched over for a thousand years. Integrated Strategies #6: "The Chronicles of Sui's Garden" Garden Interview #6: Endless Life PART01 Shortly after Shu arrived at Dahuang to learn farming, during a rest after a busy season, she thought of a casual conversation she had with Shennong about whether crops themselves wanted to be planted in the fields. She then split a small portion of her consciousness into a grain of wheat. As the seed took root, sprouted, and broke through the soil, Shu felt the plant's pure desire for growth. PART02 The wheat containing her consciousness matured; the ears were harvested, and the stubble remained in the field. Shu did not retrieve her consciousness, continuing to experience the stubble's withering and eventual return to the earth. Shu's experience temporarily ended, and she gradually forgot about it. However, during the next year's sowing, Shu discovered that her consciousness had spread throughout the entire field along with the sowing of new seeds and the fallen leaves that had turned into nutrients. From this, Shu realized the growth of life—a cycle that never stops, unceasing and eternal. PART03 One winter, after Shennong met with disaster in the north, the farmers remained dejected until the following spring. Shu proposed holding a plowing ceremony, but the farmers couldn't muster any interest. So, Shu took a gong and walked into the fields alone, singing and dancing. She used the striking of the gong to symbolize the calamities the people had endured, but she stopped before the final strike. When the farmers asked why, she enlightened them, saying that Shennong's departure was not a calamity; there would always be successors to take up his mantle and continue farming this land. Therefore, the final gong strike should not represent disaster, but should honor the land and the people who work it tirelessly in an endless cycle. With the final ring of the gong, the farmers finally regained their spirits and joined the plowing ceremony. SideStory "Here A People Sows" When the confrontation between Wang and the Sui beast reached a critical moment, Shu, Nian, and Dusk arrived at Suiling piloting the "Xuanji Colossus" created by Nian to participate in the attack against the Chang. After Wang took over Sui's place, Shu had a meal with several other proxies.
