Compared to Angels and Devils, Fallen Angels have fewer people and less land, but they are still able to stand as equals against them. Fallen Angels are not much different from humans, except they can spread black crow-like Fallen Angel wings. The more wings a Fallen Angel has, the higher their strength and status. Raynare has only one pair,Azazelhas a full six pairs of black wings. Unlike Angels, they do not have halos, but they can still use the Light power of Angels to create light spears for throwing attacks.According to Azazel, female Fallen Angels are generally wanton and lustful by nature, wearing revealing clothes with the goal of seducing males of other races. The third season of the anime, 《High School DxD BorN" was announced on June 16, 2014, and aired from April to June 2015, with a total of 12 episodes; there is also 1 OAD episode, released with the limited edition of light novel volume DX2.

Sacred Gears feed on the owner's thoughts and feelings, constantly changing and evolving to become stronger. Those that independently seal monsters or wills possess power beyond the Balance Breaker.
Balance Breaker
The ultimate realm of a Sacred Gear is the Balance Breaker. When the thoughts and desires of the Sacred Gear owner can drastically reverse the "flow" of this world, the Sacred Gear can reach Balance Breaker. Every Sacred Gear has its own Balance Breaker, but not every owner can achieve it.
Power of Hegemony
Those that independently seal monsters possess abilities more powerful than a Balance Breaker, though their power is weaker than before the monster was sealed. Sacred Gears that seal monsters can extract power from them to use, but those who cannot control the Power of Hegemony will have their life force absorbed by the Sacred Gear, leading to a rampage that only stops when the host dies. Currently, three types of Hegemony powers are known to exist, the strongest being Juggernaut Drive, which is a special existence different from other Hegemony powers. Regulus Nemea may also manifest a Hegemony power, named Breakdown Beast. True Longinus is a special existence; it does not seal a monster but possesses the will left behind by God, called Truth Idea, which has power both close to and distant from Juggernaut Drive, with its source being the Will of God. Dragon-types have Juggernaut Drive, while beast-types are called Breakdown Beast.
Juggernaut Drive
The ultimate realm of a Sacred Gear is the Balance Breaker. However, Sacred Gears that seal monsters have unique seals applied to them, and power is normally extracted in this state for the host to use. But in the case of the Sacred Gears of the Two Heavenly Dragons, the seal can be forcibly and temporarily removed to release the sealed power, which is "Juggernaut Drive." For a short time, one can obtain power rivaling God, but the risk is also extreme. After use, the user's lifespan is significantly reduced. Furthermore, they lose their sanity and engage in destruction without distinguishing between friend and foe. In the Juggernaut Drive state, the Balance Breaker armor completely takes the form of a dragon, enveloping the owner. Previous possessors of the Boosted Gear were all obsessed with power, ultimately ending up in Juggernaut Drive, dying in misery after a rampage of destruction. Boosted Gear
Boosted Gear is the Sacred Gear dwelled within Issei Hyoudou, one of the "Longinus," and is the counterpart to "Divine Dividing." Its function is to double the owner's power every 10 seconds (Human World time); as long as there is time, the power can increase without limit. Although it is only temporary, it is possible to obtain power exceeding that of a Devil King or a God, and if pushed to the limit, it can even slay a God.
The second ability is Boosted Gear Gift, which allows the doubled power to be transferred to allies or weapons.
Balance Breaker: Boosted Gear Scale Mail. A full suit of crimson armor that grants an explosive release of power, but with a time limit.

Divine Dividing
Divine Dividing is the Sacred Gear possessed by Vali Lucifer, one of the "Longinus," and the counterpart to the "Boosted Gear." Its effect is to halve the opponent's power every 10 seconds (Human World time) and add it to oneself; however, it does not restore stamina, only increases power. Due to the limitations of the owner's physical body, power cannot be absorbed infinitely, otherwise the body will not be able to withstand it.
The second ability is Half Dimension, which can halve the power of all objects within a certain range.
Balance Breaker: Divine Dividing Scale Mail, a full set of white armor where power is released explosively, but with a time limit.

Sword Birth
The Sacred Gear possessed by Yuuto Kiba, which can create demonic swords at will.

Rating Game
The current primary method for determining Devil status. After the war, many pureblood families among the 72 Pillars of Devils became extinct. To increase Devil combat power, the current Beelzebub developed Evil Pieces for Devil reincarnation. High-class and Ultimate-class Devils act as Kings, leading their peerages in battle competitions. Many rules and restrictions are set during matches; how to utilize these rules, restrictions, and terrain affects the King's evaluation. Based on performance, if a high evaluation is received, the Devil's status can rise.
Modeled after real-world chess. In a Rating Game, there are 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Rooks, 2 Knights, 2 Bishops, and 8 Pawns, totaling 16 members. The 15 pieces other than the King are distributed by the current Demon Kings. Among them, there may be Mutation Pieces (errors occurred during production, but they were not corrected because they were considered interesting; a high-ability servant can be obtained with one Mutation Piece).
Characters with higher abilities require more pieces. For example, Issei used all 8 Pawn pieces due to the Sacred Gear inside him (Sacred Gear: Issei = 7:1 ratio). Although Gasper's vampire bloodline and the Sacred Gear inside him actually required more than one Bishop piece, because a Mutation Piece was used, only one Mutation Piece was needed.
Queen, Rook, Knight, Bishop, and Pawn are all the King's peerage. Initially Low-class Devils, they can be promoted to High-class Devils if they perform excellently and receive Rating Game pieces from the Demon Kings. The Four Great Demon Kings who lead the Devils do not participate.
Abilities possessed by each piece:
- King has the ability to make others their peerage; combat ability depends on the individual.
- Queen has the abilities of all pieces except Pawn and King.
- Rook has high attack and high defense. Can swap positions with the King (a chess term called Castling).
- Knight has speed.
- Bishop has magical power.
- Pawn has the ability to promote to any piece other than King when in territory designated as the enemy's by the King (a chess term called Promotion), and can change at will.
