Character Information
The original body seems to have first appeared when the previous civilization suffered a catastrophe.
A Behemoth worshipped as a "god" in ancient times, possessing immense power and an arrogant temperament. A single flick of its tail could shatter mountains and level cities. Many years ago, after seeing Yan hunt down a weaker Behemoth, it saw the hope of the previous civilization in the people of Yan, and thus betrayed its kin to join Yan's war of hunting gods. But in reality, it was because Sui harbored the ambition to become Yan's sole god and behind-the-scenes ruler that it instigated the God-hunting War.In this battle, it was severely injured, and the Yan army was decimated, with many Behemoths either dead or crippled. Eventually, it turned against Yan, and its consciousness split into twelve fragments scattered across Yan, fighting and killing each other. The original body is buried beneath the capital.
Over the years, most of the fragments stopped fighting and became Sui's proxies, addressing each other as siblings, either entering government service or living in seclusion. However, if Sui's original body awakens, all proxies will disappear, and Yan will face Sui's wrath. The proxies have tried every means to prevent Sui from awakening or to find ways to preserve themselves. Among them, the second eldest,Wanghoped to directly kill Sui's original body, finally succeeding in killing and replacing it in Terran year 1102, and was then, by a fellow Behemoth,Yaimplanted with one of the first Originium shards, "Unreturning," beginning to be slowly assimilated by Originium.
Proxies
The twelve proxies of Sui (commonly known by players as "Sui fragments") are collectively considered members of the organization "Sui," and their race is also regarded as "Behemoth" along with Sui's original body.
Each proxy possesses a unique authority. Currently known authorities are abstract concepts related to reality and illusion, which may be related to the skills the proxies actually demonstrate, but are not identical. For example,Nian's authority is "Form," specifically manifested as forgingand making bad movies. When a proxy passes away, the things created by their authority will disappear, and they themselves will gradually be forgotten by the world. The speed of being forgotten varies from person to person, but even the proxies will gradually forget content related to the deceased.Of course, if you canResurrection...then you will still be remembered again.
As the saying goes, "things don't happen more than thrice," which holds a special meaning for the Sui Regulators—when three Regulators gather, they can piece together the divine form of the Feranmut "Sui." Although it is only a part, it is enough to cause great turmoil. Among the divine forms that have appeared so far, Sui-Xiang originated from Ling, Nian, and Dusk; "Sui" originated from Shu, Nian, and Dusk; and Wu Yan originated from Wang, Ji, and Yu.
According to Yu's files, Regulators can also transform into a form similar to the Sui beast, called the Sui-Shen. The appearance of the Sui-Shen can be reflected in the Regulator's hair color, arms, and tail.
The Department of Casuistry houses twelve stone tablet rubbings, each with text corresponding to a Regulator's appearance (including their Sui-Shen), abilities, and deeds.
In Integrated Strategies #6 "Sui's Regnum," the stories of the Regulators are introduced in detail, and in the "Chronicle of Sui," the ages and times of the twelve Regulators are recorded.
Furthermore, for the seven Regulators currently available as playable operators in the game, each has a verse describing them in their respective event stories, and the titles of their corresponding Limited Headhunting banners are taken from these verses (indicated in bold below).
Ranked first, the eldest brother among the "Sui." His area of expertise is martial arts, and he once served as aGrandmaster()stationed at Yumen, and authored "The Compendium of Martial Arts." He once participated in Ling's poetry gathering and guided her to assist in guarding the border at Yumen. The image ambassador for the Yan Recruitment Office. He sealed the part of himself belonging to the Sui beast within a sword and became a mortal, viewing it as a rebirth. Thus, an old friend(This person is Jieyun's late mentor, whose name was not mentioned)bestowed the name "Chongyue." He is currently staying at Rhodes Island as a visitor.
Governs the craft of "Martial Arts".
Authority unknown, but is the most special among the Sui fragments, almost considered another personality of Sui, and possesses a significant portion of Sui's abilities.
Name originates from the day of the new moon in the lunar calendar.
Poem title: "Clouds dawn uponMyriad phenomena, smoke dissipates on the lonely path, scooping from the Milky Way to shareSolitude."
Ranked second, the second brother among the "Sui", at odds with the other Sui-beastsIn truth, he is just poor at expressing himself, and is only on good terms with Ling and Shu. His areas of expertise are military strategy and Go; he enjoys playing and is skilled at planning. He once guarded the borders for Yan, but later became obsessed with Go. He has been constantly trying to eliminate the main body of Sui. 120 years ago, his first attempt to break into the Sui Mausoleum failed, leading to the death of the third sister, Jie, who died to save him and prevent another war between Yan and Sui. Since then, he has become even more proactive. He oncewith the assistance of the Grand Marshalescaped from the capital, which led the Sui-Regulator to place him under the highest level of surveillance. At the start of the Sui-Xiang wine vessel incident, he possessed Mr. Lee and created "vessel thralls." He now possesses the ability to mimic the authorities of other fragments. He divided himself into 181 fragments scattered everywhere, calling himself "Heizi" (Black Stone), intending to use heaven and earth as a chessboard to play against Sui. In the year 1102, Wang once again campaigned against the main body of Sui with the help of his siblings, successfully killing the main body and taking its place. The main body remained in the Sui Mausoleum, merging with the original Originium (referred to by Yan as "Wa Stone" or "Bu Fan") in the main ore vein of Jingyu. One of the black stones he placed was recovered by Chongyue, and he is currently recuperating at Rhodes Island.
During the final years of the old True Dragon's reign, controversies were frequent and the political situation was unstable. The current True Dragon, Yan Li, once asked Wang for a solution. Thus, under his planning, the Grand Preceptor assisted Yan Li's brother, the former Crown Prince Yan Wu, in entering the Forbidden City to force the old True Dragon to abdicate, but the old True Dragon passed away at that moment. Afterward, Yan Wu fled, Yan Li was forced to ascend the throne, and the Grand Preceptor died bearing the infamy of treason.
Authority unknown. Can learn the authorities of other Sui fragments.According to the text description of the third ending in Integrated Strategies #6 "Sui-Regnum's Tales of the Boundless", the authority may be "Planning" or related.
The name originates from the day of the full moon in the lunar calendar, corresponding to the eldest brother "Shuo"; it also carries the meanings of "gazing" and "expectation".
Poem: "Moon chops cold pieces, sun ages the broken board,KoAsh blownExhaustedSending offPast and present."
Ranked third, the eldest sister among the "Sui". A poet of Yan, she excels in poetry, lyrics, and songs, enjoys drinking, and has a free-spirited and unfettered personality. She previously resided in Shangshu. At the invitation of the Grandmaster, she guarded the north for Yan at Yumen for a hundred years. She is currently staying at Rhodes Island as a visitor.
The craft she governs is "Poetry".
Her authority is "Xiaoyao" (Unfettered), one of its manifestations being "Dreams".
Her name has multiple meanings, including "ditties" in "drinking games" and "short lyrics".
Poem: "Wind rises, flicking the sword; rain passes, washing the hat-string; power tiltsTurbid wine clearsIKokoro."
Ranked fourth, the second eldest sister among the "Sui", called "The Law-Giver". Her areas of expertise are law and music[4][5], and is thus known as "The One Whose Words are Law". She authored the *Initial Principles of Yan Law*, assisted in the compilation of the *Yan Law* as a court official, and later left the Ministry of Justice to focus on music. She is currently a scholar of Yan, residing in Danyan.
The art she governs is "Law/Rhythm".
Authority unknown.
The meaning of her name, when pronounced "jūn", signifies "fairness and equality" in law, and when pronounced "yùn", it is an ancient form of "rhyme", appearing as a musical term.
Ranked fifth, the third eldest sister among the "Sui". She once chose a single-character true name for each of the twelve. Her areas of expertise are history, writing, and education; she assisted the Grand Historiographer's Pavilion and Tianjing Pavilion in compiling history, and seems to have taught at the Academy[6]. In the year 982, Wang broke into the Sui Mausoleum in an attempt to eliminate the residual consciousness of Sui; after he failed, Jie died to save him. She was subsequently forgotten by the world. Her ability is "every word becomes a prophecy," where every word she writes becomes reality, making her feared by the Yan imperial court for a time. It is also mentioned in Dusk's files that she would write inscriptions on the blank spaces of Dusk's paintings, leading to discord as Dusk believes "calligraphy and painting do not share the same origin."
Her name is likely taken from Cangjie, the creator of Chinese characters in Chinese mythology.
The art she governs is speculated to be "Scholarship".
The name of her authority is unknown; her ability ensures that history recorded by Jie cannot be modified by others at will, but by using a scribal knife imbued with her power to delete or alter historical records, no one will remember the original events.
Ranked sixth, the fourth eldest sister among the "Sui", and one of the few Sui fragments who can get along well with the second brother, Wang. Her area of expertise is agriculture; she serves as a teaching Tianshi at the Yan Tianshi Institute and keeps watch over Dahuang Citysuppressing demonsfor a thousand years. She is currently staying at Rhodes Island as a visitor.
Shu is currently the only "Sui fragment" to have been resurrected: her token left at the Sui-Regulator Bureau (a rice stalk) had withered, both written records and inscriptions had disappeared, and a large number of relevant personnel had lost their memories of her—these points are sufficient to
Governs the craft of "Agriculture".
Authority is "Causality." Corresponds to Ji's "Virtual and Real."
Name originates from one of the "Five Grains" of ancient China, commonly known as broomcorn millet, yellow rice, or yellow sorghum.
Poem title: "Rosy clouds redden the late ears, dew stains the dusty lapel,A thousand autumnsPlant mySingle grain of milletGreen."
Ranked seventh, the "Third Brother" among the "Sui." Called a "stinky embroiderer" by Dusk, and is very clingy to Shu. His areas of expertise are weaving and commerce; his identity in the mortal world is a merchant, often bringing supplies for disaster relief across Yan. He is the Sui fragment most watched by the Sui-Regulator besides the second brother, Wang. He participated in Wang's plan, weaving Yan's "national destiny" into a "Scroll of a Hundred Scenes of Mountains and Rivers," then making it into clothes and personally dressing Wang in themin a manner of crowning him as emperor, so that he could see Sui's true form. He traded with Huai Tianpei for the sword carrying Shuo's true form and gave it to Wang.
Governed craft is "Commerce"It should have been "Weaving" before meeting merchants, but in ancient China, being a merchant without dealing in silk would be unthinkable.。
Authority is "Virtual and Real," capable of weaving intangible things into tangible ones, corresponding to Shu's "Causality."
The name is taken from the original meaning of "Ji," which is to twist fibers like hemp into rope, and also extends to mean achievements or merits.
Ranked eighth, the "Fourth Brother" among the "Sui." His areas of expertise are architecture and Feng Shui; he is the master of the Jie Garden and collects antiques and strange stones to decorate it. To handle troublesome affairs, he developed the artificial intelligence entity "Liang", actually a clone of Yi, helping Yi maintain the affairs of Jieyuan. Its cartoon image was revealed as early as the 6th Anniversary livestream in the Jieyuan Special Image PV.
The craft in charge is "Construction".
Authority unknown.
The name is taken from the I Ching, and also carries the meaning of change.
Ranked ninth, the fifth sister among the "Sui". Her areas of expertise are smelting and metalwork, her area of non-expertise is film directing, with a strong passion forMovies(). She previously lived in Shangshu and later in Lungmen. She has a straightforward and fiery personality, and is considered impatient by Ling. She refuses to return to the original body of Sui and is actively seeking ways to oppose it. She is currently staying at Rhodes Island as a visitor.
The craft in charge is "Casting".
Her authority is "Form". It corresponds to Dusk's "Concept".
Poem: "Heaven has a great furnace,The earth yields the five metals, forged in brilliance and tempered in cold, shining clear upon the clouds."It is worth mentioning that in the story, Nian actually uses this poem as a skill activation chant more than once. Even more noteworthy is that in the Arknights sequel game *Arknights: Endfield*, the industrial equipment in the Wuling region used to produce the item "Xirang" is named "The Heavens are a Great Furnace". Additionally, the item description for Xirang mentions it was developed by combining Originium and the power of Feranmuts. Given the long-lived nature of the Sui beast agents, many players speculate that Nian herself may have also arrived on Talos-II.
Fang
Ranked tenth, the fifth brother among the "Sui". His area of expertise is medicine. He usually travels around practicing medicine, yet lives a life that seems half-dead, causing others to worry. His siblings rarely get to see him. He left the borders of Yan long ago and later took in a homeless youth named Wind Chime in Sargon, who had lost his home to a Catastrophe, as his disciple. His knowledge seems extensive, even being able to manufacture jetboards and Originium staves for Wind Chime's use. He appears to be quite reclusive, even during the final battle, he only came silently without meeting his siblings, fearing it might be their last time seeing each other. Wind Chime describes him as a "kind old man".
According to the "Sui Chronicles" entry in Integrated Strategies #6 "Sui's Records of the Boundless Realm", the chronicles for Fang and Jie were initially invisible and only became queryable after being triggered in-game. According to the description in his chronicle[7], his ability is suspected to be related to sleep.
According to the epilogue of the second ending in Integrated Strategies #6 "Sui's Records of the Boundless Realm", Fang's handwriting is very messyprescription-style handwriting。
The craft he governs is "Medicine".
Authority unknown.
The name originates from "Fangshu" (occult arts), which in ancient times referred to techniques such as medicine, divination, and astrology. In modern times, it still carries the meaning of medical prescriptions, while also meaning "direction". It may also contain the meaning of "just dying, just being born".
Ranked eleventh, the youngest sister among the "Sui". Her area of expertise is painting. She was a painter in Yan who once lived in seclusion on Mount Huaiqi. She has a proud and aloof personality and is considered cowardly by Ling, with a strained relationship with Nian. She possesses superb painting skills and the unknown ability to materialize scenes from her paintings. She has painted portraits for eleven of her siblings, but has yet to start her
Governs the craft of "Painting".
