Valstrax first appeared in MHXX and is also the flagship monster of MHXX.
Valstrax is an Elder Dragon monster that traverses the ultra-high altitudes for long periods. The crimson trails it leaves while flying are considered red comets in some regions and are seen as an ominous omen; it is believed that its descent to earth brings unavoidable calamity. The existence of Valstrax itself was considered by many to be merely a legend until human aviation technology advanced enough to reach the high altitudes where Valstrax resides via airships, finally confirming its existence.
Research and Etymology of Valstrax
Valstrax's scientific name is derived from "Val" (Valor) and "falk" (Falcon, meaning falconNotFalcom), which literally translates to "Brave Falcon," and some of Valstrax's habits are indeed very similar to those of real-world peregrine falcons.
Basic Physiological Characteristics of Valstrax
MHXX Valstrax Illustration
Valstrax's body skeleton is close to the standard quadrupedal, two-winged Elder Dragon skeleton, but with some differences in structure.
Valstrax's torso is streamlined, with a body length reaching over 25 meters. It is covered in sturdy silver scales that resist air resistance and UV damage during high-speed flight. Its face features a beak-like mouth and a pair of blue eyes with excellent vision capable of locking onto prey from hundreds of meters high. Five dragon horns curve backward from the edges of its face, and there are holes behind the skull. Blade-like shells stand upright on its back, and its limbs and tail are long and sturdy, with thorn-like bifurcations at the end of the tail.
Valstrax has a pair of massive wing-arms on its back that can rotate and fold. Unlike the wings of other flying monsters, Valstrax's wings have no membranes or feathers; each has three thick, pillar-like wing bones with sharp wing claws. Each wing bone is hollow, with nozzles at the tips connected to an organ inside Valstrax's body similar in function to lungs. These wing bones are not connected by joints like limbs but are loosely held together by thick muscles and ligaments. Therefore, Valstrax can change the shape of its wing-arms by altering how it applies force: they can be closed together like a large hammer, or liketelescopic batonsuddenly thrust forward, hence the moniker "Spear Wings"—these wings can be swung like a pair of long spears.
Valstrax's unique wing structure dictates that it cannot fly or glide by flapping its wings. Therefore, Valstrax evolved a unique flight capability exclusive to it: it inhales air through valves in its chest and uses a special organ to convert the air into Dragon Element-infused "Dragon Energy," which is then forcefully expelled through the jet ports at the tips of its wing bones, achieving high-speed flight via jet propulsion. With this almost sci-fi ability, Valstrax can fly at supersonic speeds, the fastest among all known flying monsters, much like a jet fighter. By controlling the angle and intensity of the jets, it manages its speed and direction. Coupled with its incredible lung capacity and streamlined body, Valstrax can dive from high altitudes with continuous acceleration, breaking through the resistance of air and sea to plunge into the ocean, snatching prey with its talons before soaring back to heights of hundreds of meters. The red contrails left by the Dragon Energy jets during flight are the reason its movements are mistaken for a falling disaster star.Summary: Valstrax is a literalGunlancePlayer
Even if Valstrax does not land directly, its mere presence near an area can affect it. As an Elder Dragon symbolizing natural disasters, Valstrax can trigger catastrophes in at least three ways:
Parts of Valstrax's aging shell may break off during supersonic flight due to air resistance, falling to the ground at extreme speeds. The powerful impact creates craters over a wide area, and the Dragon Energy-infused shells cause the behavior of nearby creatures (including other Elder Dragons) to become unstable, indirectly threatening humans and natural systems;
If Valstrax itself were to land on the ground at such speeds, it could cause even larger-scale landscape destruction. However, for the sake of gameplay, hunters often need to fight Valstrax on the ground, and its lethal high-altitude dive-bomb attack has become known as the "Cute Star Flying Crash[1]”
Valstrax is extremely aggressive and will actively eliminate other creatures it encounters in the air. If it proactively approaches the ground, it poses an even greater disaster...
Habitat of Valstrax
Valstrax's range of activity centers around the Ruined Ridge, with confirmed sightings in various surrounding areas. Its primary activity zone is over 10,000 meters high, an altitude unreachable for many flying monsters (even if they could reach it, encountering Valstrax would likely be fatal, except forKushala DaoraElder Dragons like these, which can still put up a fight). Its nesting sites are located on extremely high-altitude mountain peaks. This has led to the belief that Valstrax's activity cycles are measured in millennia, and there were even theories that it had gone extinct until human aviation technology advanced enough to reach the ultra-high altitudes where Valstrax resides via airships, finally confirming its existence.
Valstrax's Hunting
Valstrax is a carnivorous Elder Dragon that periodically captures from the seaLudrothand other small monsters, bringing them back to its nest to feed.
In addition to conventional attacks such as biting, clawing, and body slams, Valstrax can extend its wingarms equipped with sharp wingclaws, using strong muscles and ligaments to launch close-range thrusts and sweeps at prey, or strike prey fiercely with the entire wing, dealing damage with the wing's force and overflowing Dragon Energy.
Valstrax's wingarms can rotate and extend freely, allowing it to aim its Dragon Energy nozzles at prey and blast them with Dragon Energy, or use Dragon Energy to accelerate and launch an aerial charge combining speed and power after locking onto a target.
Valstrax's strongest attack when facing powerful foes is calledCometorThe Silver-winged Evil Star Falling from the Heavens[2]also commonly known as the "Cute Star Flying Crash", capable of instantly traveling from the ground to deep space at speeds breaking the sound barrier, circling and accelerating in the air while trailing a malevolent red light, before suddenly diving down from another direction to smash the opponent and the ground they stand on to pieces (in-game, even the BGM temporarily stops along with the tinnitus sound of breaking the sound barrier).
Intense actions cause Valstrax to exhaust its stored Dragon Energy; at this time, Valstrax opens the valves in its chest to inhale air more vigorously. When overflowing with Dragon Energy, Dragon Energy will continuously leak from its chest cavity, wingarms, and the back of its head shell.
Valstrax's Ecological Niche
Valstrax's ecological niche is currently impossible to calculate.
Due to its range of activity, there have been no reports of Valstrax fighting other Elder Dragons yet. However, according to data compiled by the Hunter's Guild, Valstrax's danger level is higher thanTeostra、Kushala Daora、Chameleosand other more common Elder Dragons is slightly lower—after all, according to the setting, unless humans actively step into Valstrax's territory, its descent to the ground would only be an extremely rare accidental event.
A malevolent star glows red, striking fear into all who behold it; its starlight burns the earth, turning the world into eternal night.
”
—Star of Despair, Crimson Glow Valstrax
In the vicinity of Kamura Village, a variant of ValstraxCrimson Glow Valstrax(Translated in Traditional Chinese asCrimson Glow Valstrax) has appeared for the first time.
In the Sandy Plains Relic Records, it is mentioned that because ofRed Cometits descent, the entire tribe originally living in the Sandy Plains was forced to leave the area. At that time, there were speculations that Valstrax might appear in a future MHRise update.
After the Version 3.0 update, upon completing the "The Allmother" quest and reaching Hunter Rank 100, hunters will learn of Valstrax's appearance. Furthermore, it differs from the original Valstrax individuals and is known asCrimson Glow, and the Urgent Quest of the same name can be accepted.
This individual has become more ferocious than normal due to the overflowing Dragon Energy within its body, attacking everything in its sight, and its range of activity is extremely wide, with a danger level surpassing that of ordinary Elder Dragons (Danger Level 10, the highest tier in MHRise), and it even uses combat techniques not seen in its normal state; externally, the wing-legs themselves and the parts connecting them to the body appear red due to the excessive Dragon Energy (the red fades after it is slain), and when enraged, the Dragon Energy emanating from Crimson Glow Valstrax becomes even more dazzling, causing all surrounding light to dim.
When usingComet, a prompt "Crimson Glow Valstrax 'Ambush'" will appear.
Like Bazelgeuse in MHRise, Crimson Glow Valstrax has also become a "world police" (after completing the Urgent Quest, one of the five maps will be randomly used for its quest). If Crimson Glow Valstrax is present on the map while hunting a monster, it may intrude and attack. However, unlike Bazelgeuse, Crimson Glow Valstrax's entry moveCometonly targets the monster, and the Dragon Energy explosion from the impact does not damage players, only knocking them back. Compared to Bazelgeuse, whose scattered scales hurt both monsters and hunters, it appears more "just."It even enters the field directly with the "Kawaii Star Sky Crash" and switches the BGM like Bazelgeuse.。
Crimson Glow Valstrax itself is not affected by the Rampage, but descending upon the Rampage in a frenzied state, it can be said that Crimson Glow Valstrax treats the Rampage as a prime opportunity for a massive feast.Like Magnamalo, it treats the Rampage as a buffet.
On February 4, 2022, the Event Quest "Advanced: Crimson Calamity" was released. A Crimson Glow Valstrax appeared at the Infernal Springs. This individual features increased health, significantly increased damage, stun resistance, and is guaranteed to be a maximum-sized individual, similar to Apex monsters in "Emergency" quests. However, it can be Wyvern Ridden.
Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax
An individual of Crimson Glow Valstrax that was parasitized by Qurio but overcame the virus, successfully achieving a symbiotic relationship. Its Dragon Energy manipulation and wing-claw attacks have been significantly enhanced.
Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax will enter the "Risen State," where bright orange patterns appear on its body.
Concise Tutorial
Move Analysis
Roar: Valstrax's roar is classified as a Large Roar
Bite: A quick bite forward
Double Bite: Bites forward twice after a brief charge
Slam: Raises its upper body and slams down on the opponent
Wingarm Switch: Changes the orientation of its wingarms; different moves are used depending on the orientation
Wingarm Ground Stab: Used when wingarms are facing forward; slams the ground with a foreleg, then stabs the ground with the opposite wingarm
Can perform two consecutive stabs when enraged
Wingarm Rear Stab: Used when wingarms are facing forward; looks at an enemy behind it, then turns and stabs the ground with a wingarm
Can perform two consecutive stabs when enraged
Wingarm Thrust: Used when wingarms are facing forward; locks onto the enemy and thrusts its wingarm forward with significant range
May follow up with a second thrust immediately or a wingarm sweep after a brief charge
For Anomaly Investigations: Crimson Glow Valstrax and Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax (Level 271+), when using Wingarm Thrust in the Dragon Energy state, it is likely to stab once, immediately reposition using Dragon Energy, and then stab twice more
Jet Charge: Used when wingarms are facing forward; after charging, it ejects Dragon Energy from its wingarms to propel itself in a straight line toward the enemy at high speed
After a Jet Charge, it may perform a second charge after a short run-up
Crimson Glow Valstrax may enter a hovering state after finishing a jet charge
Wingarm Slam: Used when the exhaust ports are facing forward; it first slams the ground with its forelimb, then follows up with a heavy slam from the wingarm on the same side
Slams twice in succession when enraged
Wingarm Sweep: Used when the exhaust ports are facing forward; after a brief charge, it sweeps its wing horizontally to strike the enemy
Dragon Orb Shot: Used when the exhaust ports are facing forward; it fires several Dragon element energy orbs from the exhaust ports
Aerial Dragon Blast: Used when the exhaust ports are facing forward; it performs a forward somersault jump and blasts Dragon energy toward the ground from its exhaust ports, causing a Dragon element explosion
Ground Dragon Blast: Used when the exhaust ports are facing forward; it blasts Dragon energy toward the ground from its exhaust ports, causing a Dragon element explosion
When enraged, it may aim its exhaust ports forward and trigger another close-range Dragon energy explosion
Inhale: Lifts its upper body and opens the vents on its chest to take in air
After inhaling, all of Valstrax's wingarm moves will be imbued with the Dragon element
For Crimson Glow Valstrax, wingarm moves after inhaling will leave behind Dragon energy on the ground that explodes after a delay
Comet(): Valstrax's ultimate move; it forcefully ejects Dragon energy from its wingarms to ascend to high altitudes at extreme speeds, circles once in the air, and then dives down at the enemy, dealing massive damage
Crimson Glow Valstrax Exclusive Moves
Hovering: Ejects Dragon energy from its wingarms to enter a low-altitude flight state
After hovering for a while, uses a tracking jet charge or Dragon energy explosion against the enemy
Master Rank Crimson Glow Valstrax may use two wingarm thrusts after hovering, or a wingarm thrust followed by a wingarm slam
Dragon Flash(): Charges energy by gathering its wingarms, then fires a massive Dragon-element laser forward, dealing extremely high damage; after firing for a few seconds, it gradually sweeps upward and leaves Dragon energy explosions in front
Master Rank Crimson Glow Valstrax will lock onto the hunter again after the upward sweep of Dragon Flash and sweep the laser back toward the ground
If Risen Valstrax is in the Risen State, its Dragon Flash will trigger another large-scale Dragon energy explosion after sweeping back to the ground for the second time
Risen Valstrax Exclusive Moves
Risen State: A state unique to Risen Elder Dragons, entered when their rage reaches its peak. Bright orange patterns appear on the body surface. In this state, it uses many newly added moves; continuous attacks can force it out of this state.
Dragon Energy Wingarm Combo: Used in the Risen State. First, one wingarm charges with intense Dragon energy, then it uses the other side to deploy its wingarm and spin its body to attack, followed by another charge and a rapid thrust with a Dragon-charged wingarm.
In Anomaly Investigations: Crimson Glow Valstrax, Risen Valstrax quests at level 271 or higher, or Special Investigations, the thrust will be performed twice in rapid succession
Uppercut Wingarm: An upward-swinging wingarm attack. If used as part of a combo, the startup time is almost non-existent.
Ambush: Risen(): A fixed follow-up after entering the Risen State for the first time. When using this move, Risen Valstrax will first hover briefly at high altitude, fire a large number of Dragon energy orbs that explode upon landing with a delay, then circle briefly before slamming into the ground; additionally, it cannot be locked onto before landing. If the quest takes too long, this move may be used again in subsequent Risen States.
Hunting Tips
Valstrax's moves are wide and sweeping, with fast and powerful attacks, but its wind-ups are also very distinct, making it suitable for hunting with Adept style or weapons with Guard Points (GP).
Aside from being immune to Dragon element, other elements do not have a significant advantage against Valstrax, so elemental builds tend to struggle in battles against it.
Valstrax's weak point for ammo is its wingarms, followed by its wings when in the Dragon Energy state.
Valstrax changes the orientation of its wingclaws after certain moves, which in turn changes the moves it tends to use; when the wingclaws face forward, it mostly uses stabs, and when the vents face forward, it mostly uses wing slams and Dragon Energy shots.
If Valstrax actively hops backward, there is a high probability it will use a jet charge. If the Dragon Energy hasn't dissipated after the charge, it will follow up with a double jet charge. It is recommended to sheathe and evade or use Valor style GP; with precise timing, you can knock it out of the air.
Using Flash Pods can create many opportunities for dealing damage.
When Valstrax inhales deeply through the vents on its chest, you can seize the opportunity to focus attacks on its chest. Dealing enough damage will cause it to topple and fall over.
It is not recommended to guard against Valstrax's "Around the World" attack. It is recommended to sheathe your weapon immediately after it takes flight, keep an eye on its position, and be ready to use a Superman Dive at any time. After landing, Valstrax will have a recovery window that can be used for attacking.
During the MHRise era, if you can find a Monksnail in the hunting grounds, you can also use it to fly in place and dodge this move.
Most parts of Crimson Glow Valstrax become immune to elements when enraged, but the elemental hitzone values of its forelegs remain good. Its chest is weak to Water and Ice while inhaling, so the ceiling for elemental builds on certain weapons is higher than physical builds.
Compared to the standard Valstrax, Crimson Glow Valstrax has an ultimate move where it gathers its wingarms to fire a massive Dragon Energy laser known as the "Positron Cannon (Dragon Flash)," as well as combos where it follows a jet charge with a dive or Dragon Energy shots.
When its Dragon Energy is activated, some of Crimson Glow Valstrax's moves will cause delayed Dragon Energy explosions on the ground.
Although Crimson Glow Valstrax's Positron Cannon deals massive damage (it's an instant kill if your health isn't high enough; it's basically impossible to withstand with only 150 health without Spiribirds), it has a long and obvious wind-up, a safe zone at close range, and provides enough time to deal damage from the side during the move.
Crimson Glow Valstrax's chest topple threshold will always have at least 1 point remaining in its normal state; therefore, even if the accumulated value is maxed out, the topple can only be triggered by dealing damage while it is inhaling. When it topples, the knockdown stagger and all crowd-control status values will be locked at 1 point.
Risen Valstrax also locks its values when it inhales again to enter the Risen state after recovering from a chest topple.
In the Event Quest "Advanced: Crimson Calamity," Crimson Glow Valstrax begins flying immediately after launching into the sky to perform "Ambush," unlike in other quests where it waits for a second before flying, so its position must be noted earlier.
Risen Valstrax locks its topple stagger and all crowd control status values when it is able to use Risen Ambush. Because the trajectory of Risen Ambush involves dashing forward before taking flight, it deals high damage to the ground, so do not approach Risen Valstrax when you see it using Risen Ambush.
Certain attacks of the individual commonly known as "Xing Jiu Ke" (Anomaly Investigation: Crimson Glow Valstrax, Anomaly Quests level 271 and above, Special Investigations) will have follow-up attacks.
In MHRS, Crimson Glow Valstrax and Risen Valstrax do not use Ambush in the Arena due to the terrain; in the Forlorn Arena, it is possible for them to land outside the map after using Ambush.incidentally making the game lag, after which they will be corrected back into the field by the system.

Weapon
All Valstrax series weapons are named after famous real-world comets, and their visual designs are arguably the most sci-fi in the series; some weapons even produce dragon energy jet effects when swung.
In MHRise, the names of the final upgraded forms of Valstrax weapons are a combination of "Dragon Heaven" + weapon type + a word describing red and a comet name. However, in Simplified Chinese, they are consistently written as Dragon Heaven Red + weapon type + comet name.
The Master Rank Valstrax weapons are named "Red-Winged [Star]" (specifically, a star from a constellation); the Simplified Chinese version removed the possessive particle and, for some reason, insisted on writing "Crimson" (赫) as "Red" (赤).The translators didn't like that style.
Regarding attributes, all Valstrax series weapons possess the Dragon element, and the melee weapons are famous for their exceptionally long white sharpness.Aside from white, there is only red, just like a relay baton.。
Armor
Valstrax series armor is designed as a set of shiny silver-white armor, with the entire body protected by Valstrax's sharp shells. The shoulder guard designs for Blademaster and Gunner armor refer to the wing-legs when the wingclaws are facing forward and when the jets are facing forward, respectively. In terms of skill effects, the Valstrax series armor has the effects of increasing attack power and [Dragonheart]. After losing two-thirds of health, the user enters the Dragonblight state, significantly increasing attack power and all elemental resistances. The weakness is a slight reduction in affinity.
The armor of Crimson Glow Valstrax in MHRise is named "Crimson Glow"(which is "Kaku-you" in Japanese and Traditional Chinese)as its name, the red light effects across the body are more prominent (color can be changed). At level 5, [Dragonheart] triggers as long as health is below 80%, and it does not reduce affinity or nullify the Dragon element. The armor itself has the highest defense in High Rank, and under the [Dragonheart] bonus, it is even tougher than some Master Rank armor. The skills are also excellent, but since it is used on the premise of a five-piece set, the requirements for weapons and talismans are quite strict.
During the MHRS period, the defense of Crimson Glow armor remains among the best, and it still holds good value in many mixed sets.
Risen Valstrax armor possesses the [Dragon Conversion] skill. Depending on the current Switch Skill Swap Scroll color: on the Red Scroll, all elemental resistances are reduced to zero and converted into weapon element; on the Blue Scroll, attacking increases elemental resistance. When used properly, it can greatly enhance the elemental value of elemental weapons, and it is also suitable for pairing with skills like [Dragonheart] and [Furious] that can increase all elemental resistances.

Theme Music
Valstrax's theme BGM is《Silver-winged Star()》, which is magnificent and has a grand sense of aerial combat, highlighting Valstrax's temperament as the overlord of the sky.
During the MHRise period, this track was rearranged to fit the Japanese style of the game. The rhythm is more hurried compared to the original, and the climax lasts longer. The downside is that the more exciting parts of the original were diluted due to the removal of string performances, so this arrangement received a lot of criticism from many people.
In the Ver.13 update of MHRS, a flute version of "銀翼の凶星" was added.
Starting from MHW, there is a tracking BGM when following a monster that is changing areas. MHRise also has this setting, but Crimson Glow Valstrax's jet-powered area change pulls away the distance immediately, causing the tracking BGM to play for barely two seconds.

Trivia
Valstrax front-facing meme OVO
Valstrax's theme music "Silver-winged Star" is extremely popular among players. On YouTube, there was once a video that compiled the 20 most popular monster battle BGMs, including those from MHRS, and showed that Valstrax's BGM reached a staggering 3.5 million views, far exceeding the 2.61 million of the second-place Glavenus theme "The Scorching Blade."[3]。
The development team originally planned to design Valstrax's ability as "manipulating iron sand with magnetism." This idea was first used for Rukodiora in MHF, while the first monster in the mainline series with such magnetic field control abilities isNarwa。
Valstrax was once criticized by some hunters for its design being too sci-fi and feeling out of place compared to the traditionally fantasy-themed Elder Dragons.
Because its setting is somewhat sci-fi and its characteristics align, people often compare Valstrax with the "Mobile Suit Gundam" "Red Comet"Char Aznable, earning Valstrax the nickname "a Gundam in Elder Dragon's skin."
Because it excels at flying and leaves a red trail of light, and as an Elder Dragon, its combat power and prestige are far above ordinary monsters, Valstrax is often used by hunters to mock the "Red Spark"Nargacugaand the "King of the Skies"Rathalos。
DeviljhoAs a monster that can use Dragon-element breath and has an appearanceGodzillasimilar monster[4], with the grand debut of Valstrax, it was given a new meme—
When Deviljho learns the Dragon Energy engine...
One theory suspects thatShara Ishvaldaand Valstrax are closely related: Shara Ishvalda also has large claw-like wings and many spiracle-like holes on its chest, and the parts that produce shockwaves and "singing" are also those large claw-like wings. Crimson Glow Valstrax's movement when using its positron cannon is also very similar to Shara Ishvalda's shockwave cannon.
The Great Sword "Wyvern Ignition "Steel"" in MHW, commonly known as the Jet Great Sword, evoked memories of Valstrax for many hunters from the older games upon its release. Thus, Valstrax is also described as "carrying six Jet Great Swords," and some fans have even made mods to replace the original Jet Great Sword's appearance with that of the Valstrax Great Sword.
In the MH series parody animations produced by NCHProductions, the collaboration monster between MHW and theFFseries' collaboration monsterBehemoth's ultimate move "Ecliptic Meteor" is described as Valstrax using aTetsucabrato drop it.
Valstrax does not have powered-up forms like Hyper or Super Deviant individuals in MHXX. However, in the MHXX DLC quest "The Sister is Scarier than Valstrax!" (Japanese:天彗龍より姉御が怖いぜぃ!), a Valstrax with significantly increased HP and attack power, possessing a difficulty level comparable to Super Deviants, appears as the target. At least within the Chinese hunter community, this individual is habitually referred to as "Super Deviant Valstrax" or "Big Sister Valstrax."
Crimson Glow Valstrax is the first variant to completely replace the base species in a new base game—previously, most variants would coexist with the base species or appear as a G-rank replacement for the base species in the base game.
Considering Valstrax's habit of living in the high-altitude Ruined Pinnacle, it might have been made into a variant to allow it to reasonably appear in more maps.
However, the Risen individual appearing in MHRS is named "Risen Valstrax" instead of"Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax"()。
In the actual game, when accepting the quest, it is indeed written as "Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax," making it the monster with the longest name in MH history.
In MHRise, by climbing to the highest point of a map, one can discover that when Crimson Glow Valstrax uses its Ambush, its flight altitude in the sky is not particularly high (roughly the same as the highest reachable point on the map); at the same time, it can be seen that only red special effects are flying, without the actual monster model of Crimson Glow Valstrax.
In the naming of some Valstrax materials, the adjective "赫色" (Kaku-shoku) is frequently used. This is not the Japanese Kanji for "brown" (褐色), nor is it related to "ochre" (赭色); its true meaning is "a color as bright red as fire."Which is to say, double the "red."。
Besides serving as the flagship monster in MHXX, Valstrax's variant, Crimson Glow Valstrax, also serves as the theme monster for the album cover of the MHRise Soundtrack EXTRA version.
In Ver. 14 of MHRS, Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax was the single-monster Master Rank quest with the highest reward money, reaching 100,800z, making it the only single-monster quest in that version with a reward higher than 100,000z.
Since Ver. 15, it and Risen Shagaru Magala have become the two single-monster quests in the current version with rewards higher than 100,000z.
In the USJ 2017 live event, visitors could experience riding an airship with hunters, during which Amatsu and Valstrax would appear (Valstrax even rammed into Amatsu).
This setting was used in MHRS; in the standard Amatsu hunt quest "The Dragon of Ruin," as long as Follower Master Utsushi is not brought along, Crimson Glow Valstrax will crash directly into Amatsu in its comet form before the final phase.
Although Valstrax is often associated with a "cool" image among hunters, its front face (especially the high-definition face in MHRise) appears somewhat goofy and comical due to its small eyes and bird-like facial features, leading to the creation of many memes.
Valstrax ranked 4th in the "Monster Election" popularity poll held for the 20th anniversary of the Monster Hunter series, while its variant Crimson Glow Valstrax ranked 20th.
